    About

The T-Rex and Brontosaurus: African Bedtime Adventure

There are a lot of things you can find when you venture up a mountain. The sounds, smells and textures are different than the world at the bottom. This dinosaur adventure book will take young readers up one exciting African mountain, down one dangerous river, and into a world that may forever change the experience of mankind on this earth

You don’t have to search hard to find fictional books based on dinosaurs today, but this dinosaur kid’s book puts a spin on the usual storylines. What if dinosaurs weren’t extinct as it has been believed for thousands of years? What if they still roam the earth in select pockets of the world, shielded from the rest of the world by deep waters, dark woods and unexplored mountains?

This dinosaur adventure book follows an unexpected experience shared by a paleontologist, his son, and a dog. They find something exciting and unexpected while working in the Mahole Mountains National Park of Tanzania. When they decide to wander deeper into the Congo in chase of an unknown but fascinating creature, their African guide helps them escape a tragedy that no one could have predicted.

This story presented in this dinosaur kid’s book takes readers into the heart of Africa’s
Democratic Republic of the Congo. Readers can pick up details about the African terrain and
landscape while immersing themselves in a fantasy about a part of the world many humans
never get the chance to see.

The story begins at the airport, but it quickly ventures into the Mahole Mountains in search of chimpanzees living in their natural habitat. When something unexpected but of intense interest to paleontologist Albert and his son Freddy return to their temporary home and call in their knowledgeable and friendly guide to steer them in a new direction.

What started as an ordinary trip into Tanzania to explore chimpanzees turns into a heart thumping adventure into an unknown world where creatures thought to leave the earth thousands of years ago may still live. What Albert and Freddy find in the company of their guide could change the way humans live forever. It could change the content of history books. It would for sure catch the interest of every paleontologist around the world.

But what will Albert and Freddy do with the information they find? Will they share their adventure and change the world? Or will they keep their information a secret and give the creatures they find a chance to continue living undisturbed?

    Meet the Characters

Albert is a professional paleontologist hoping to extend his grant by completing exciting research into the lives of African chimpanzees. He has spent his career studying animals that are currently in existence in the world, but that doesn’t mean that he has no interest in the animals believed to have gone extinct thousands of years in the past.

This dinosaur adventure book picks up at an exciting point in Albert’s life. He is under a lot of
stress when he arrives in Africa for what might be the last phase of his chimpanzee research. He has hopes of extending his grant and continuing his research, but the prospects of that happening do not look promising.

Albert takes his well-trained dog and his son, Freddy, into Africa with him. While Freddy is not a trained paleontologist, Albert looks forward to spending time with his son and maybe teach him a few things about the importance of paleontology.

Freddy is your average boy growing up in the modern world. He loves his video games and
enjoys taking walks with his dog. When he arrives in Africa, he finds his new home anything but what he expected. His new home doesn’t have a television, Internet access or video game consoles. He looks out the window and doesn’t see what his father says he sees. He worries that he will have nothing to do and starts to miss his friends back home, but it doesn’t take long for him to discover the magic of Africa.
