    About

'Blacktail and the Tinsel Spiders' is the first in a trilogy of short stories taken from the maritime journals of a once illustrious Admiral. Each manuscript chronicles the escapades of our reluctant hero, Captain Sandpiper and his trusty crew of seamice. Join them, as they embark on the voyage of a lifetime. As the story unfolds you will bear witness to a fast-paced and exciting adventure, one that includes a gripping battle at sea, some ingenious mouse-made rat-traps and a whole host of amusing characters. Wonderfully illustrated throughout and including a map, this rip-roaring yarn is suitable for the very young, the not so young and, the young at heart!

"It was business as usual at Oystermouse Harbour, but for one young seamouse, his life was about to change forever. While waiting for the tall-ship the 'Guillemot' to be loaded with cargo, Captain Samuel Sandpiper gets some unexpected news. It is announced that a pirat, arch-enemy of the seamice, has been arrested. The racketeer rat, know as Beady Ragtail, was caught red-pawed two days earlier and has since been held for questioning. But interrogating the dirty-rat, a self-confessed compulsive liar, had proved futile. Time was fast running out. For the pirat to stand any kind of a lawful trial he must now be shipped to Dooms Holm Island immediately and Captain Sandpiper is assigned the unenviable task. But when the rat's cousin 'Blacktail', the most infamous and despicable pirat of them all, sets out to rescue him, a perilous pursuit entails!"
