    Young Mowgli is snatched by a tiger and taken into the jungle as a baby. All of the jungle animals are afraid of the tiger, a man-eater named Shere-Khan, but luckily Mowgli escapes and is helped by a wolf family. Mowgli learns to live in the jungle with his best friends Baloo, a sleepy bear, and Bagherra, the black panther. But when he is threatened by Shere Khan, Mowgli prepares for the fight of his life.

    About The Author
    Rudyard Kipling (18650-1936) was born in India and moved to England as a child with his foster parents. He returned to India at 17 and worked in Lahore newspaper and also wrote poems and stories. He was a tremendous success and eventually returned to London and lived in America after marrying. In 1907, he became the first English writer to be awarded the Nobel Prize.
