    About

Every fall, Indians (now Native Americans) from the Tama Indian Rerservation in central Iowa, would leave the reservation to gather roots, nuts and herbs for the coming year. They would travel to their ancient hunting grounds and stay until late winter, hunting and trapping. And they made their camps in thr same place each autumn, a brushy timberland along a small stream, a branch of South Timer Creek, that ran close to Granpa's house. (quote from the book) One small boy was especially loved by our family and we named him Tee Tee Peetum. This illustated children's book is about Tee Tee. The author (when he was 95) drew on his psersonal knowledge of this tribe and Tee Tee to write and illustrate this work.

Tee Tee's life is full of excitement, all of it includes his home, his school and his observations and experience with the natural world.
