    About

Sylvie Snail loves going out to see the brightly coloured flowers, though she can´t very often as she doesn´t like getting too wet or too hot. However one day she makes a great discovery.

This picture book tells the story of how this little snail finds a way of still doing what she enjoys. While the illustrations inspired by Matisse´s Modern Art collage 'The Snail' help a child to see the world in an abstract way through the eyes of the artist.

For under fives this is the perfect bedtime story allowing them to look and enjoy colours, talk and begin to read. However this book can also be used with children upto 10 as a teaching aid for an Art class on Matisse,or for introducing an Art activity to children whose first language isn´t English.

Please visit Facebook page 'Celia Children's Books' to see a lesson plan for how to use this book as part of an Art Activity.
