In 2012, the FBI claimed there were at least 300 active Serial Killers roaming the Highways of America. In response to this shocking and horrifying statistic the FBI created a program called The Highway Serial Killings Initiative.
It was their decision to create a joint state to state task-force in order to try to somehow stem the rising number of dead bodies being found dumped along the Highways. In just the rest stop areas alone, the initiative made the public statement that 500 dead bodies had been found over the last few years, and most of these were women.
Of the 250 people whose names they had on a suspect list, the vast majority of these names were long-haul truckers, and they said that they felt confident some of them would soon be caught. Frighteningly, though the authorities had found no forensic evidence to arrest some suspects, they claimed that an astonishingly high number of truckers had been found to be driving trucks that had been ‘adjusted’ and modified by their drivers into torture chambers.
Hiding in plain sight, or standing just around the corner, waiting to lure an unsuspecting victim into their pre-prepared torture vehicle; these are the very real prospects that might face any of us.
