    About

Jersey is the most southerly and the largest of the Channel Islands, located just off the coast of north west France. The island has been a popular destination with tourists for many years, attracted by the superb coastal scenery, rich culture and history and endless opportunities to take part in a range of activities.
This is the island of Lilly Langtry and Bergerac and the famous Jersey cow. Whilst on the Island you will be able to experience some of the finest sea kayaking in Europe, cycle miles on uncrowded Green Lanes, visit the Zoo established by Gerald Durrell or wander around some of the most important archaeological sites in Europe, to name just a few things.
During the summer months there is the opportunity just to relax on some of the most spectacular beaches you will find anywhere. The twice daily change of tides, reaching 12 metres some days creates dramatic contrasts in the coastal scenery. which has to be seen to be believed in some places.
There are hotels to suit all price ranges and some excellent restaurants to celebrate the days successes and achievements, whilst planning further adventures.
Jersey has frequent air links to a wide variety of British and European destinations ensuring that it is easy to visit the Island for a short weekend break or for a longer holiday.
The author grew up on Jersey and has spent nearly 50 years exploring his Island home on foot, by cycle or on water. Let him be your guide, not just to the main tourist attractions, but to numerous secluded locations, which are only accessible to those with a more adventurous disposition.
Use this guide to plan your visit in advance or take it along with you when you are out and about on Jersey.
