HFM by Example accommodates the entry level user. If we know wer way around a computer and have no experience with HFM, this is a book for we. If we wants to jump in the Oracle Hyperion career as a Hyperion Developer, congratulations, many of us started from this book.
Visual books lead the way. That’s why we developed “By Example” series, in which We have screenshot ready almost for every topic. This series is the visual learning books where everything is taught through diagrams. This is great for programs we are totally new to.
“By Example” series are project oriented books. we extracted the key knowledge from the real projects we implemented recently. “For most people the best way to learn is to learn by doing. If We have to choose between different books, always choose a book that enables we to complete a project.” we're sure to get a lot more out of our “By Example” books.

    So, Learn HFM?
Faster, broader and more detailed financial reporting has become a mandatory requirement worldwide. The current financial reporting systems used by some companies – whether spread sheet-based or point solutions - are likely to fall short when faced with these stricter demands being made across the entire regulator and stakeholder communities.
Launched in September 2000, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) now boasts thousands of customers. It is a proven, packaged solution that uses modern web technology and built-in process management to help organizations meet even the strictest reporting and compliance requirements while all so providing a deeper level of operational analysis.
We’ll build up an actual complete HFM application, which We could use in wer company directly with minimum modification. Through the example, We will learn all the concepts needed for HFM. Not all the knowledge about HFM, but only those necessary, so that We could start quickly. To learn more and deeper, please refer to Oracle Hyperion websites. There is no place better than there. The only problem is there are too much for a beginner to know. Pre-requisites already take about 20 pages, which scared me at beginning. But actually, 98% of them we won’t hit forever. Another 1% might need once a project lifecycle. Focusing only on the key parts, is our book differentiates with others.
We will have minimum pre-requisite, and background of the project in this chapter. They provide the backend story of HFM application, high level, will be helpful to understand the following contents.
