    About

C++ has many of the attractive features of the C language such as efficiency, ability to develop system programs, direct access to machine, etc. C compilers are now available with most operating systems. During the 1980s and 1990s, a great growth in object-oriented technology began. It replaced the more traditional structured programming techniques. Many new object-oriented programming languages were developed. Some of them are Object-Pascal, Modula-2, Objective-C and C++.
This book is written for people who know C and want to learn C++. In addition to the complete description of C++, this book presents many useful examples for beginners. This book will help them to thoroughly understand the language and how to use the OOP concepts in programming. This book provides enough information for developing programs but apart from this, many practice problems are also given to solve. Programmers should have interest to learn the subject and also they should have good creativity knowledge to develop larger programs. You are advised to write programs for small mathematical problems compile and debug them so that you will get experience with common errors.
I hope this book will help you to learn the language better and to become a good programmer. As far as this language is concerned, various compilers are available. To compile the examples given in this book use Turbo C++ version 3.0 under windows environment or Visual C++ version 6.0.
    Organization of this book
Chapter 1 (Basics) discusses the history, fundamentals, advantaged and disadvantages of C++.
Chapter 2 ( proram) format and commands) discusses how to use C++ compiler, compiler short cut keys, function keys and how to write small programs, compile, debug and run the programs. Some of the compiler commands are given.
Chapter3 (statements) focuses the various data types and statements in C++. Very simple are given to easily understand. Additional programs are also given to thoroughly learn the C++ statements. Practice problems are given to solve.
Chapter 4 (Array) describes about the Array concept in C++ with suitable examples. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional arrays are explained with simple examples. Practice problems are given to solve.
Chapter 5 (structure) discusses the structure in C++ language with suitable examples. Many examples are given. Practice problems are given to solve.
Chapter 6(Functions) describes the functions, their return types; passing by value return by values, pass by references, return by reference in detailed manner with suitable examples. Practice problems are given to solve.
Chapter 7 (Pointers) discusses the pointer concepts in depth. Many programs are given in order to explain this concept. This chapter will be more interesting because very easy examples are given. Practice problems are also given to solve.
Chapter 8 ( Classes and objects) describes the important OOP concept “classes and objects”. This chapter explains how data are encapsulated, and protected from accidental access by programmer. Many programs are given to explain the concept. Practice problems are given to solve.
Chapter 9 (Operator overloading) discusses how normal C++ operators are overloaded to operate on user defined data types. Operator overloading is an example for polymorphism. Practice problems are given to solve.
Chapter 10 (Inheritance) discusses how child classes are inherited from base or parent class. Discusses in detail about the private, protected and public access specifiers. Explains multi level inheritance with diagrams and example. Practice problems are given to solve.
Chapter 11(Virtual functions) discusses how virtual functions ar
