    About

Historical Play: A young princess of Spain, Catherine of Aragon, arrives to England to marry the english heir to the throne. But within months of the union she becomes a widow after the sudden death of the prince of Wales. A new marriage is arranged between Catherine and the brother of her late husband, the future King Henry VIII.

For 20 years Catherine exerts a beneficial influence on her husband counteracting the policy the main counselor of the King, cardinal Wolsey, tries to impose. The King, living in accord to certain vices of the time, combines his duties as a husband with extramarital affairs Catherine bears with resignation. But unexpectedly matters take a turn when the king becomes hopelessly infatuated with his new mistress, Anne Boleyn, right at the moment when he assumes that Catherine cannot give him the heir he yearns for. Determined to achieve his objective, he will resort to all kinds of manipulations and pressures in order to divorce his wife. Catherine will have to face all the forces of the State that the King has won for his cause. Alone, but firmly supported by her religious convictions, she will face everyone in defense of the truth and the law of God.

The historical drama of a woman with admirable fortitude who did not yield to the enormous forces the King gathered to subject her.
