    About

My nephew, S. Taylor Ferris, was born with a dream to be a professional golfer. His love for the sport of golf began at the tender age of 3. He practiced each and every day faithfully. He was on his way to realizing his dreams winning several tournaments as a young child, during his teen years and throughout his adult life. He was instrumental in Life Christian Academy’s decision to form a golf team and winning their first state tournament in 2003.

At the age of 15, he was employed at Allenmore Golf Course advancing to Assistant Golf Pro in 2007 and Head Golf Professional in 2010.

Being a good role model to children was always important to Taylor. While attending Life Christian Academy, he tutored the younger children with their studies. In 2012, Taylor became involved with the First Tee Program giving lessons to young children while employed as a golf professional.

Sadly, in his mid-20’s, he was diagnosed with epilepsy, a serious brain disorder that turned his life inside out. He fought the battle that epilepsy presented him each and every day while never letting go of his dreams. You could find Taylor on a golf course or a driving range any day of the week. Allenmore Golf Course in Tacoma, Washington was his home away from home. He was known as “Mr. Allenmore.”

In mid-March, 2015, Taylor finished his last tournament at Allenmore with a head-turning 66.

On April 17, 2015, one day shy of his 30th birthday, Taylor lost his life in a fatal automobile accident while driving home from work. He spent his 30th birthday in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

My nephew was a talented golfer and most importantly a faithful Christian. All those who knew Taylor, knew his love for God. He was well known and admired by the golf community as well as his local community.

He will be missed by many but never forgotten.
