Harvey Glatman's spree as a serial killer may have begun as early as 1954. The recent linkage of Boulder, Colorado murder victim, Dorothy Gay Howard, attests to this. Earlier it was thought that he killed three women in California between 1957 and late 1958. Prison reform and psychotherapy did not help Glatman to any extent. I have profiled Glatman's crimes through fragmental biographies of the women who he attacked and then murdered. I have relied mostly on newspaper accounts and also ancestral records to do this. As with an earlier book that I published about the women who were victims of the Boston Strangler, this is a unique theme. I believe that it will humanize Glatman's victims, at least somewhat. Otherwise, they are remembered in history solely as an appendage of the serial killer's crimes. Readers will find the stories of Shirley Ann Bridgeford, Ruth Mercado, Judith Ann Dull and Dorothy Gay Howard interesting in their own right.
