    Robert Hooke was an English Scientist who made many discoveries and invention that are still used today. Some of his famous inventions are the balance spring and the anchor escapement used in pendulum clock. He wrote and published Micrographia, which contained his different observations through the microscope as well as illustrations of what he saw. Robert Hooke discovered and named the cell, also known as the building block of life.
