Through a study of my genealogy I traced the paternal side of my family back to Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. I moved there to write a book about my roots, my great-grandfather being the main character. He had been the Justice of the Peace in Wellsboro, joined the army in the Civil War and was killed in Gettysburg as the Captain of the 149th Company A of the Bucktails.
