Book 2 in the "Tutor Master helps you ..." series develops and builds on the ideas set out in "Tutor Master helps you Write Stories" Book One. The aim is to help young writers to continue to develop self-confidence in expressing themselves using their own experiences, activities and ideas as starting points for writing. As with Book One, the underlying aim is to help children develop the confidence to become independent writers by helping them to value their own experiences as the basis for their stories. To achieve this aim Book Two builds on what has already been learnt in Book One and focuses on developing four key areas that examiners are looking for. These are; Description, so that young writers can make their stories lively, exciting and enjoyable; Feelings, about themselves and their characters; Speech Punctuation, to make stories more interesting and to add realism; Using different sentence types to add more variety and to stimulate reader's interest. 20 brand new story plans are included such as "My Pet" and "A Day Trip with School". These story plans are accessible and enable young writers to bring their own experiences to the plans, by providing a structured framework to stimulate ideas for stories. Years of experience of using this book with students and talking to parents gives proof that this approach is successful. Both students and their parents have benefited from using this book with successful writers achieving better results and more reluctant writers improving. The aim of using this book is to produce happy, self-confident, independent writers.
