Tunnel is the story of what happens to a group of people travelling by train through the Channel Tunnel between England and France. It's the Eurostar journey from hell. There's a spinster schoolteacher, a bitter and ageing sportsman and a publisher who has been smuggling porn. There are two doctors returning from a conference, a female official from a European bank, a family returning from a rain ruined holiday, an art dealer travelling with his mistress, a male secretary and a computer expert who has left behind a dead prostitute in Paris. A fairly ordinary group of travellers in other words. And then there is an explosion and they're trapped in the Tunnel. The cover photograph was taken by Vernon Coleman at the Gare du Nord in Paris - and it is genuine and untouched.

The first kindle edition of this book contained enough errors to fill a skip. One of the big ones proper builders use. I apologise profusely. The book has appeared as a hardback and a paperback (without errors) but things had to be done to turn it into a kindle book and the errors climbed in en masse. We were not helped by the fact that the spellchecker which was used is about as much use as a soaking wet paper hanky. But in the end it's my book so it's my responsibility. So, unreserved, grovelling apologies. The book has now been completely re-edited and republished and it is, I hope, much the better for it. I hope readers now enjoy the book.'
