I had no intensions of writing another book after (ACC to 4/7th RDG in 22years) but I had more story's to tell and (Time waits for no man) fills in all the gaps that I missed throughout my army service. To be quite honest I got the writing bug and I really enjoyed it and found it very relaxing. Time waits for no man commences from where my first book finished and the story is in flash back mode from the early 70s, 80s and 90s. The last 6 months is the sub story and takes place in the TA centre in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. It begins on the ferry at the end of my last book and I have just woken up with a bit of an hang over, it had been a very emotional day for me after leaving my Regiment the 4/7th RDG for the very last time, I do think I could pass it off as a stand alone book however I think the first book would give you a better picture into the characters. For people that have had a military career you should easily relate to the antics in this book, for those of you that served in the 4/7th or know me I will leave it up to you to decipher the characters. For people with no military back ground I say give it a go you don't know what you missed. From being a young recruit in Aldershot to Tidworth, the plains of Alberta in Canada and the famous Sin Bin, jungle warfare training in Singapore, the sleazy German Reeperbahn and the Django bar, Castle Martin in wales, sunny Cyprus to name a few. Some of my old characters are back like Corporal Withering a man not of this earth, Sergeant Bradling, the stereotype provost Sergeant, Corporal Long the do-gooder religious freak, the padre that swore like a trooper, Brian seedy Simpson the sex mad sadomasochistic cook, Sergeant Granny Grezzling the Airborne dreamer plus SQMSs, SSMs, RSMs and QMs for some of my readers to work out for themselves. This like my first book is barrack room banter the way I like to write it, this is how it was, and I tell it as it is. If like Corporal Long you do not like swearing, sleazy women, smoking, drinking and everything that's bad for you in life then don't read this book, on the other hand give it a try and get onto the same wave length as us squaddies, you will be surprised.
