Three Hens in an Orange Tree

This is a true story about.an English pensioner who moves to Gran Canaria to live with the new love of his life, a very srong willed Canarian lady. After spending a couple of years living together, cooped up in a small flat, they decide to look for a rural property to escape the noise and pollution of city life. After 6 months of searching, they eventually find the, potential, home of their dreams. But before converting the property into their personal ´Paradise,` they suffer a year of building work, stress and spiraling costs. Their encounters with local characters are amusing and often frustrating, but slowly they manage to renovate the dilapidated property and learn to live with hens, many cats and a bad-tempered Green, Amazonian parrot. The story tells of an elderly Englishman's initiation into Canarian culture, food and language. There are many ´laugh-out- loud` moments which will make the reader eager to turn to the next chapter to discover what new adventures await the protagonists. This is a feel-good book which demonstrates that it is never too late to change your life.
