These Bloody Teeth and the Mobius Strip:
There are issues at the building-site, problems with the contract and the local residents. Tony's a jobbing bricklayer, but with a lot more as well. He and the rest of the men are up against it.
At a seedy hotel on the east coast there's a 'do' organised for Halloween. It's Fancy dress and alcohol - a problematic mix? The party shenanigans get weird, grubbily bizarre and strange coincidences are rife. Detective Inspector Dave is eventually called in - has there been a murder?
Tim is stunningly clever, but at the same time he's a devoted 007 fan. He's fallen on his feet pretty much throughout life - so far. Something very odd happens now, though, and then further occurrences full of life threatening danger appear.
The wandering mind of Mol a Geog teacher is unlimited, even at work. She gets accidentally caught up in the devastating events that later occur.
Martha: a retiree, finding her feet in the sudden freedom of her new position in life. Retired, yet it's a new and exhilarating time after all - almost like starting again, but properly this time
Chris: the self absorbed job seeker with ideas above his station. He jumps smilingly through the many hoops put in his way regarding a job interview. He goes to Hell and back - though perhaps without the 'back' bit.
Shaun the Tarmac man, might not the best or most reliable worker - or racist for that matter.
Then there's the wiry thief: a young shoplifter whose a cross between a streetwise Chancer and a glittery eyed magpie.
The characters proceed with their lives, but Fate puts each one of them onto converging pathways to be at:
'the right place at the wrong time'...'the alchemy of circumstance'.
Humour and weird accompanies these people along the trail of everyday.
The tale leads them all towards disaster, horror - and perhaps a touch less humour.
But then Mobius takes over.
