The near future. The theft of a powerful device, and the kidnapping of the scientist who created it, sets in motion a frantic race to stop THE WEAPON from being used.
Dr Sam Calder is thrown into an unlikely partnership with a mysterious bodyguard known only as The Driver who drags him on a mission to disarm THE WEAPON before it is used to change the face of the world.
Calder had helped create the Earth Orbital Protection System (EOPS) a machine capable of amplifying the energy in a crystal harvested from a meteorite. Designed to deflect rogue asteroids on a collision course with the Earth, it has been stolen by terrorists who plan to use it as a weapon.
Calder and The Driver find themselves pursued by a shadowy government agency called THE AGE (The American Guard Elite) who are determined to silence anyone involved with the construction of EOPS.
As the tension escalates Calder has to face up to the moral implications of having created THE WEAPON.
Meanwhile, investigative journalist Jenny Shannon is following a tip that leads her to New Breakthrough Technologies, the company behind the EOPS where she uncovers a terrifying conspiracy. With the help of her informant, Zack Norris, Shannon attempts to infiltrate the launch site to gain hard evidence.
Most of the action takes place in and around the desert just north of Phoenix, Arizona as the disparate group of characters come together in pursuit of a common goal – to destroy THE WEAPON.
