What would you do if you discovered nothing was as you thought, and the fate of your friends, perhaps even the world was in your hands?
That’s the reality Peter must face in this award-winning middle Grade adventure, The Viking’s Apprentice.
Campbell’s Cove is a small town surrounded in mystery and intrigue. The history of the Cove tells us of dragons, trolls, goblins and the evil Master who stole children, livestock and, strangest of all, eggs from the Cove every year. Aided by the hideous monster, Tolldruck there seemed no stopping their evil plan.
That was until, centuries ago, a Viking warrior came to Campbell’s Cove and vowed to rid it of all evil, and claim the prize offered by the mysterious church elders. The Viking succeeded and everything returned to normal. The evil was gone, and Campbell’s Cove was safe again… Until now.

Author Interview
So, what makes the Viking’s Apprentice series so special?
It’s a number of things that have come together and worked out very well. I wanted to write children’s books that reminded me of the classics children’s best sellers when I was young. I loved the Eyes of the Dragon, by Stephen King and The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien. These were stories that were written for younger readers with a more grown up approach. The Viking’s Apprentice series mirrors this and takes children on a fantasy adventure they will never forget.
The classic good versus evil battle that runs through the series is something readers have really loved. I also get a lot of positive comments about the fast paced nature of the adventure. All 4 books take place over the course of about a week.
The fact that we have young heroes, both boys and girls, throughout the fantasy series gives readers someone to relate to.
Why should readers give your books a try?
The Viking’s Apprentice is an original adventure story for children, and older readers, that takes them on an unforgettable journey. It brings in magic, dragons, witches and of course Viking’s into a modern day setting that will have readers turning the pages and asking for just one more chapter before lights out.
The readers at Goodreads have voted The Viking’s Apprentice No. 1 in Smart novels to read to your kids, Books for Boys who Hate Reading and Scottish Fiction. When you consider those lists include Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Enders game, Percy Jackson and other great stories it’s an amazing endorsement.
The series has also scored 23 genre number 1’s across Amazon best seller lists. When The Viking’s Apprentice was made free for 24 hours it was downloaded 26000 times making it the most downloaded children’s kindle book in the world that day.
