The Story of a Never Ending Way (Journeys Book 1)

The Way is none other than the famous Catholic pilgrimage of St. James the Great across the Iberian Peninsula in Northwestern Spain. My journey began in France, in the picturesque village of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, in the foothills of the Pyrenees and ended in Santiago de Compostela, in Spain where the saint who first charted the Way, lies entombed. The route passes through countless of towns and villages. I encountered many breathtaking landscapes, rivers and forests and truly wonderful people; pilgrims who walked with me and others who lived along the road. I also experienced and discovered the rich and marvelous culture—so different to mine—of the Basque people, who are still deeply rooted to their ancient traditions. My journey was difficult, with many kilometers to travel almost without stopping, sometimes over great altitudes and at others over infinitely long stretches. I was exhausted and often in pain from the impossibly long distances, but it was nonetheless a magical, internal procedure which gave me all the more admiration for life. I walked about 770-775 kilometers and I would not change a single day of it.
