This book presents a new approach to learning goal-directed communication. Since methods from the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) have dominated goal-directed communication training for over a quarter of a century, this book presents some of the most significant new developments in over 25-years. While several of these models had their roots planted in NLP, the approach evolved from NLP’s purely process driven attitude into advocating the mindful use of content in order to motivate people to achieve goals. Four models are presented here for the first time as an interlocking system for learning goal-directed communication. Called The Shillaw Method, through explanations, examples and exercises, this book is an ideal introduction to this approach.

"I met an extensive number of NLP Experts in my career as a facilitator, since I completed my NLP Practitioner 20-years ago, but Thom has not only learnt the craft to the depth and level of its founders, he has taken it further incorporating deeper insights. For a company looking to improve communication skills for team effectiveness, leadership or sales and negotiation, this is a must as part of your communication learning programme." - Mel Harris, Managing Director, The Performance Tree
