It takes a strong kind of person to live through something so horrendous and still survive. Imagine spending every day in fear of the next abusive attack, the tirade of scolding words which reign down continuously. Nowhere to turn for help. And all this at the hands of the two people who bring you into the world, who are supposed to nurture you. This is a journey, Leah's journey, at times a horrifyingly sickening account of degradation and abuse, leaving you feeling raw with emotion.
Whilst initially written to help recover from the trauma she suffered as a child, Leah Kane now wants to use her own experiences to ensure that no child suffers at the hands of abusers again, helping survivors see there is hope regardless of what has gone before.
What defines you is about who you are not about where you have been.
This book holds the words that Leah has wanted to say for years but has never been able to find.....
This book is not written to win literary awards. Its my words, my feelings. All I want to do is open peoples eyes to the ever growing issues of abuse. I feel like taking on the world to protect every child and stop every perpetrator. It's impossible, I know, but this book is the first part of my story, this is what happened, I hope to publish my journey to overcome it in a few months and following through with my own personal projects has made me more determined to continue raising awareness of the abuse that happens behind closed doors. It s not about being a do-gooder, its about making a stand, showing that this behaviour is unacceptable and giving every child the start they need. I wish I could offer this book for free but unfortunately I cannot do that long term so instead it's on for the minimum price.
