How you get to be the person you are is often a mystery that is never unraveled. Our lives are filled with twists and turns that we sometimes only understand when looking back. This is the story of how the roads carried me from a real place that many know only as the Mayberry of television to Nova Scotia and beyond. I have ended up back on the North Carolina coast near where I spent much time in the summer of 1969. How we got here and the changes we have seen along the way make an interesting story to anyone who lived through the sixties and seventies. What we have found here on the shores of the White Oak River offers hope to those of us who believe we are making progress on this human journey that we all take.
