The prayer of agreement is a powerful and effective prayer that pulls down every barrier in the spiritual realm. It is based upon the statements of Jesus in Matthew 18:19-20:
“Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt 18:19-20)
We find similar principles revealed elsewhere in Scripture:
“And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.”
(Leviticus 26:8 KJV)
What glorious truths verses such as these reveal to us as followers of Christ, and how seriously we should take to heart their implications. Certainly there will be situations that are greater than any one of us to conquer alone, but together our strength is not merely added, it multiplies.
There is a synergising effect that takes place when hearts are bound together with one vision and request, and our Lord has encouraged us again and again to come as one to ask of Him those things we desire to see come to pass.
Let us not fail to appreciate the tremendous power and potential of such prayer. May our hearts be connected so vitally to the Vine, Jesus Christ, and His agenda, that together we agree and see Heaven come to earth. Thy will be done, Lord, right here, right now, on earth as it is in Heaven.
