Things are not going Addie’s way. The long summer holidays are looming and he is being shipped off to stay with his Gran. He would much rather stay and hang about with is mates at the skate park or the bowling alley, but mum is ill in hospital and dad is missing-in action. Gran is awesome and all that and the huge estate that she lives on stretches for miles. But… well it’s just no fun on your own.
Freya lives in the dreary village of Burlington Shipley and is also dreading the holidays. All her friends are either away or in the next village, mum and dad are run off their feet with their smallholding, so she also faces the long summer alone.
But supernatural forces from the past are determined they will meet and they find themselves talking to Israel a Ghost Cat with a message from a century ago.
Meanwhile across the village another outsider arrives. The beautiful, brilliant, but evil scientist Vivian, has pitched up from the United States. What does she want in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere, why is she looking for Freya and just whom is she working for?
As they try and solve the mystery of the hundred-year-old murder, they come across the journals of Professor Ritkin, a long dead ancestor from Addie’s family, why does no one talk about him, could he be connected to the murder?
As they investigate, evil supernatural forces start to gather against them. Freya is snatched by the spectres of The Others, a trio of evil scientists who are determined to come back to life and take back control of their vast empire. It becomes a race against time to save her.
Who is going to help them when Addie can’t, is it too late to bring her back from the other side?
