Lebanon is a country in Southeast Asia, on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Lebanon is famous for its cedars, a tall evergreen tree. Due to its location, Lebanon is at the crossroad of many influences such as Syrian, Turkish, and Armenian, therefore Lebanon has a rich culinary mix.
For its most part, Lebanon has been ruled by foreign powers such as the Othman Empire & the French. They controlled Lebanon & introduced a variety of foods to the Lebanese cuisine that have become staples in the Lebanese diet including olive oil, fresh bread, & laban (yogurt).
