The Life of a Soldier

Leon Jones is the son of a soldier who left school at 15 and enlisted as an apprentice mechanic. This book is a memoir of his life as a soldier in the British Army. During his service, he served in Germany and saw active service in Aden, Trucial States, Malaya and Borneo. He had a six-year break as a policeman in Birmingham and Derbyshire before re-enlisting and serving in Hong Kong, Germany, Northern Ireland and Oman. He finished his army career as a Royal Armoured Corps Schools Instructor at Bovington in Dorset.
