At times I can still recall the comfort of the crinkled leather seats, worn from years of hauling over 132 children, mostly boys under the age of 8, from their families. At least that’s what we were called. Actors and actresses.
It was what Larry taught me to say through the passenger side window when we pulled up alongside our next catch. I held an outstretched hand of bubble gum towards the next victim, promising a ride through town and a chance to be a real-life movie star.
And I was only eight years old.
