This is a coming of age story - a young single father who was raised on a farm suddenly found himself entrusted with the power, and fate of a monarchy. Le Tran Noro was greatly loved as a child, and embraced life buoyed by great friendships and a remarkable future ahead. He found headaches in love, in freedom and in the ordinary life he went through, yet he was contented and would not have it any other way. A personal tragedy that haunted him the rest of his life was duly accepted as part of life, and so was the responsibility he inherited from it.
Excerpts from the book:
That evening, a dozen of men in black suits suddenly surrounded our house, for the safety of the ‘Queen’. I took some time to grasp the reality of the situation, which reduced to certainty the next day when all four members of the Council of Regents paid a ‘courtesy visit’ to the Queen and her father.
On the last day of the school break, a military helicopter flew both Mylla and me to the Metrotil Metro Airport. Next I knew we were on board a royal plane to the capital. I was perplexed when the plane staffs addressed me as ‘Your Royal Highness’. I got nobody to ask about anything as the Keepers of the Royal Line already went back to the capital. Upon reaching Aoirdiur, we were escorted to the Summer Palace. Apparently the Zumanec Grand Palace was still under repair due to the explosion the week before.
On a day I was supposed to teach in a mathematics class to some 16 year olds, I was holding my two year old daughter, now a Queen, in the Parliament Throne Room, surrounded by cabinet members and top ranking government officials.
In the Throne Room, they proclaimed and introduced for the first time, Her Majesty Queen Mylla, the 21st Sovereign of the Royal Planet of Zumanec.
