As winter threatens to fall across Northern France the British make one last great effort to gain ground before the battle that has raged for five long months is brought to a halt.
For the exhausted men at the front, after weeks of vicious fighting, the rain and cold appears to have finally brought an end to the carnage on the Somme. However, there is to be one more battle, one final all out effort to break the faltering German Army before it is saved by the onset of winter.
For Harry and his section the battle will be a vicious horror of constant attacks, against an enemy determined to fight for every scrap of ground.
