When the children of Lavender
Lane would go out to play, they would always smell the wonderful
scent of Miss Sadie's baking. It would
draw them to her house, where they would visit with her, and her cat and her
mouse. They loved Miss Sadie's wonderful
treats, but most of all, they loved Miss
Sadie.
On one such day, they didn't
smell Miss Sadie's delicious baking. They
went to her house, where the shades were drawn and the door was closed. The
children were disappointed, worried and frightened for Miss

what she told them made them sad.

realized it was time for them to give back to Miss
