“Swatchways” – the ‘Shed’ that Dad built upside down in Paglesham (Threads Book 3)

Unimpressed by the Architect's efforts, Dad decided to design and build his own house in 1963. Half wood and upside down - but with a unique sense of design....until in his old age he undid much of it! "Swatchways",was part of the lives of my immediate family from 1964 until 2009. Its sale was forced upon us in difficult circumstances and was a particularly painful and protracted process.This book was written primarily to record for posterity some facts and photographs about a unique building. I began writing it in 2009, after the buyers had commenced work and it became clear that the house that my father had designed and built was being changed almost out of all recognition.
It was written initially for family members but, after some tweaking, I hope that it can be enjoyed by a wider audience.
