Each of these stories and poems has been written with a particular purpose in mind but they can be used as a discussion point for a wide range of issues. It is up to the storyteller to be creative in communicating and using the stories in the book to meet the child’s particular needs. Metaphors are ideally best left unexplained providing an opportunity for the listener to find their own meanings from within.
