Born in the slums of Salford outside Manchester Albert was a bright kid who managed to get himself to grammar school, he soon realised that his dream of adventure meant that he had to escape and run away to London at the tender age of 15yrs leaving his education and his family behind, he was soon drawn in to a life of violence, prostitution, drugs and murder as he battled to survive his new environs, after a few months he joined a tramp steamer bound for australia and his adventure became reality, this is the story of how he survived the trip
