The flashcards are space themed, with illustrations of rockets, stars, aliens and planets.
The Fry list consists of the 1000 most frequently used words for reading and writing. Sight words are words that beginning readers should memorize rather than sound out. By going over these sight words with your child, you are helping them to master reading.
I initially created these "themed" flashcards for one of my students who would become quite bored while studying sight words. I created flashcards that I thought would be interesting and it worked! Suddenly, he was looking forward to practicing his sight words because I was using a format that entertained him.
