Shorty Longfellow’s Easter Surprise

Shorty Longfellow, a low-slung dog with high self-esteem, returns to his favorite park on Easter Sunday morning. He meets up with his dachshund friend, Speckles. Whereas Shorty is short-haired, brown in color and truly likes looking like a hot dog, Speckles is unsure of his appearance. He is a long-haired dachshund with spotted white fluffy fur and long floppy ears. and is not happy when he is called"bunny." During the Easter Egg Hunt, the two friends meet a little girl named Ellie and a mother duck who are each having a bad day. With the help of Shorty Longfellow, Speckles brings about an Easter surprise and learns to like himself just as he is. Reading level 2.7
