This memoir, written under a pseudonym by its author, is the true story of the part alcoholism played in the family life of two generations of a family. It begins with the story of the author's mother, whose drinking began before much was known about addictions. The author herself promised she would never become like her mother, but that was a promise she failed to live up to.
