If you have a fair number of pre-digital mainly historical family photographs which concern you because they are not properly organised, this book may give you some ideas on how to resolve this worry. It is based on the author's own experience in dealing with the photos accumulated by himself and his family over the years and which could not be properly accessed because they had not been organised. It starts with sorting the photos methodically in a manner which is suitable for scanning and scanning the images and then using a computer to organise them. Although it uses programs such as Photoshop Elements for the purpose it does not pretend to show you how to use Photoshop or similar except for the purpose of improving and organising the photos but suggests suitable procedures. The process is in two main sections, sorting the photographs in a way which facilitates editing them so that they appear chronologically in the display. This is generally difficult with the classic method of using albums and this way the final product is easier to search and to display to others. At the same time the files of the images are organised so that you can access and save them easily and in a methodical manner. The author believes that by having a simple defined strategy from the onset makes it easier to carry out methodically what may seem a tiresome and arduous job. The final product should also give you a collective vision of your past life and makes it easy to juxtapose events which occurred at a similar time.
