The better question is what hasn't she done? She has written several best-selling mysteries and short stories; penned articles and essays on social issues; built a thriving mystery writing business; is a social activist; and is the founding mother of Sisters in Crime, an organization that has raised awareness of mystery writers who are women. For the latter, alone, she should receive this award.
