Sixteen year old Daniel Cribbens has been thrown out of school and needs a job. Through his mother, a cleaner for Mr Strickland, a local solicitor, he finds work clearing out the house of Harry Jenkins, recently deceased, and a former client of the ageing lawyer. The house is to be sold with the proceeds heading to Harry’s nephew in Australia. Commandeering the help of his whirlwind friend Roddy who has ADHD, Daniel sets to work but his suspicions about the situation rise when he realises that a computer, letters, photographs and anything that could give any personal information about Harry have already been removed from the house. When he learns that Mr Strickland is about to leave the country, he becomes even more concerned. Discovering a mysterious envelope marked ‘In the event of my death, please deliver to Mrs Ethel J’, Dan is determined to take it to its rightful owner and uncover the mystery of Harry and the house. Weird things happen along the way. Weirder than you can imagine.
