Do you remember starting high school? A senior taking his last final exam remembers the challenges and triumphs of his early freshman days in 1968 at a highly competitive school situated in a crime ridden inner city neighborhood. This is a story of a reluctant but curious 13-year-old who musters up the courage to face his fears in order to help his enemy and ends up changing his own life forever. Along the way, he discovers that the freedom afforded by growing up comes from accepting responsibility and having the courage to stand on his own two feet.
