This book forms part of our 'Pook Press' imprint, celebrating the golden age of illustration in children's literature. Edited by Amy Steedman it contains a collection of works including Charles Perrault's 'Cinderella', 'Puss in Boots' and 'Sleeping Beauty', the Brothers Grimm's 'Little Red Riding Hood', Joseph Jacobs 'Three Little Pigs' and Old English tales such as 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and 'Tom Thumb.' This book further comprises a series of dazzling illustrations by Paul Vincent Woodroofe (1875-1954). He was a much celebrated book illustrator as well as a prolific stained glass artist who studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in Bloomsbury, London. Part of the true British 'golden age', Woodroffe's artistry still delights both young and old over a century later. The fairy tales are presented here in their original translations, alongside beautiful colour images.
