Naaein (Naein): A Visual Journey To Main Features of- (The Indigenous (or Traditional ) Architecture in Historic Cities of Iran Book 3)

Naaein is a small town which is located about 500 kilometers south of Tehran. The pre-Islamic clay castle of Naaein is famous as Naarin Castle. There are also several other clay castles in the villages close to Naaein. The Jam'a Mosque of Naaein is initially built about A.D. 11th century. Because of an earthquake in the 20th century, many traditional features in Naaein were destroyed. Only some debries have remained which shows the thick, brick walls and roofs of the traditionally-built buildings. The new residential part of the city, therefore, looks more like a modern city. Finally, the Naaein rugs and the design of the hand-knotted carpets of Naaein are internationally famous.
