This fixed layout e-book is like an activity game with pop-ups. It shows your child the location of each state, its official flower, as well as the alphabetical order of the states. This is done in two parts.
In Part 1, your child interacts with a map of the states. Here is how it works. Each two-page spread has an outline map with two states highlighted in different colors. Tapping twice on one of them activates a pop-up showing the name and picture of the flower, plus the name of the state. Tapping twice again hides the pop-up. By simply tapping (or clicking) on the screen your child learns the location of all the states and their adopted flowers.
(Note: Close all pop-ups before turning the page. If a one is left open, the following pages will have open pop-ups. On a Kindle Fire, tapping on the second state should open a new pop-up and close the first one at the same time.)
In Part 2, your child sees the alphabetical order of the 50 states. Here is how it works. Each of the pop-ups from Part 1 is now on its own two-page spread. They are presented alphabetically from Alabama to Wyoming. There is no tapping here, just flip the pages from state to state. The map at the end of the book shows the two-letter postal abbreviations for the states.
With this book your child learns visually and kinetically by tapping on the map. When you read along you provide the auditory element for a complete learning or playtime experience.
