    About

Marcus Thripp spits the course, gritty sand from his parched mouth, and gazes unfocused and bemused into the hazy, sun-blasted desert. He lifts himself from his bedroom carpet, and as he loosens his school tie, a blast of wind sweeps the stifling heat and sand into his room. He shields his dry eyes from the heat and notices, he is not alone.

The mole-like creature, Targlen, pats his oversized feet with excitement into the sand, eager to see the strange room lift off the ground and into the air. Marcus stares blankly at the furry creature as he wonders if he could be dreaming; surely, he must be. A piercing, deathly screech rolls along the sandy dunes. The evil shrill pricks their skin and immediately, Marcus is rushed by Targlen to vacate the wondrous room and flee the approaching Darklings. They mount Targlen’s Brumptle Skate, Shivia, and make haste towards Pen Le Ney - a farming province, shielded from the elements beyond its mountainous walls which surround the Sanctuary.

Marcus is disorientated. But, with Targlen’s help, the two soon theorize that it was Marcus’ mysterious crystal blue disc - left with him as an abandoned baby, and described through a series of paintings thousands of years old - that brought him to Targlen’s home, Mistari - a planet where technology and freedom of speech, have been outlawed by a race of invisible entity’s known only as the Dark, and who’s authority is stamped down upon its inhabitants with deathly force by their immortal, devilish, Darklings.

With both help and hindrance from Marcus’ cast of extraordinary companions; Scarpadia, Quick, Nimble, Saarinen, Guardian, and Hawk, they embark on an incredible quest to locate a treasure long lost by the Great Angels of Light, in the hope that it will return peace and freedom to the forgotten world, as the Great Angels once did.

For Marcus, the voyage of self-discovery tears him between two truths – the school boy he knows he is, and the King who his companions believe him to be. On the alien world, all Marcus wishes to do, is get home. But, he soon realizes that with every step he takes closer to home, is a step closer to ‘Anharri Dracoul’ – Dark Death, a prophecy depicted within a series of ancient paintings, the same prophecy which includes Marcus, or as those who travel with him come to recognize him as… Marillion Quan - King of all the Great Angels.

Armed with Marixus - a sword cast from the indestructible metal Zevastium, and embossed with untranslatable golden symbols - left for him by his self-sacrificed protector, Julune; Marcus, his companions, and an unlikely army of thousands of would-be warriors, converge on Bootlace Mountain, exactly as depicted within the famous ancient paintings.

Convinced by the many that he is indeed Marillion Quan, Marcus leads his army into battle in hope of uncovering the lost treasure that will see the Dark’s demise. But, as the battle unfolds and losses become great, Marcus bears witness to an event which will challenge everything he has come to believe.
