I was inspired to write this book when my daughter wanted to write a report on Margaret Thatcher, but she couldn't find any age appropriate books. The book focuses on Mrs. Thatcher's childhood and young adult years. Maps of England and London help the reader grasp the geography of Mrs. Thatcher's life. Photos of a young Margaret, her birthplace, and hometown make the text more meaningful. Parliament is explained by comparing it to the US House of Representatives. The young reader will come away from the book with an appreciation of the moral character already evident in a young Margaret and how this influenced her as the first (and as yet, only) female Prime Minister of England.
