Every boater has their tale. This is the tale of Grace and Roger realizing a 20-year-long dream to live on a narrowboat and explore the inland waterways of the UK. After 37 years of teaching for Roger, and as many years for Grace of bringing up Naomi, Steve and Jess, doing a variety of paid jobs, and finally caring for both mums for several years, Roger is offered voluntary redundancy at a time of "staff restructuring". He's nearly 60, and was going to retire anyway - a very fortunate coincidence. With both mums now deceased, and the children adult, the chance has come.
