Leif Erikson may have been the first European to set foot on the soil of the North American continent. It is uncertain exactly where he landed. He sailed from Norway to Iceland and then over the North Atlantic to the coast of New England. He may have come ashore anywhere from Maine to Massachusetts, but his landing site could have been as far south as New Jersey. My e-book includes information about the possibility that the Norse explorer could have made his New World home at Gerry's Point on the Charles River.
